ISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Sunday that party founder Imran Khan has not made any deal with the government, and that he cannot disclose details of his meetings with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Speaking to media outside the Supreme Court while filing a contempt petition, Barrister Gohar said the court’s order of August 18 had been “clearly violated.” He said the party had filed a contempt application and had requested the Chief Justice of Pakistan for a meeting, but he was busy and the meeting could not take place.
He added that PTI representatives also met the Supreme Court Registrar and requested that the case be fixed for hearing either Monday or Tuesday. According to him, PTI has approached the Supreme Court 15 times and the high courts 25 times.
The petition asks the court to ensure implementation of its August 18 order. Barrister Gohar said courts can set at night and even on Sundays, and the Registrar has assured that the file will be placed before the Chief Justice today. “The Supreme Court’s order cannot be ignored. The world is watching whether the Supreme Court will get its order implemented,” he said. Responding to a question about Imran Khan’s transfer to a private hospital, he asked whether the Supreme Court could not order someone to be sent to hospital, and pointed out that people had gone to Ziauddin Hospital before as well.
He further said that in November 26 case, PTI workers were killed and injured, and that no one had more interest in that case than the party. He said they wanted the judge to take notice in that matter. When asked if he had met Mohsin Naqvi before the Supreme Court’s order regarding Imran Khan, Barrister Gohar replied that he meets him occasionally but could not share details of those meetings.
