PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party meeting is underway at the Chief Minister’s House to finalize strategy for the upcoming election of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister.

PTI Secretary-General Salman Akram Raja, Provincial President Junaid Akbar, former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, and the party’s nominated chief minister Sohail Afridi are attending the session. Advocate General Shah Faisal is also participating in the discussions.

According to party sources, the meeting is focused on formulating a plan for the chief minister’s election and reviewing related legal complexities.

Earlier, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Secretariat issued the agenda and procedure for the election of the new chief minister. The assembly session has been scheduled for Monday, October 13, at 10 a.m., during which the Speaker will announce the voting process.

Nomination papers for the chief minister’s slot can be submitted by 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, followed by scrutiny at 4 p.m. and publication of the final list of candidates by 5 p.m. the same day.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi confirmed receiving Ali Amin Gandapur’s resignation, stating that it will be processed after verification and fulfillment of legal formalities on Monday.
