PESHAWAR: The Provincial Paigham-e-Aman Committee Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held a key meeting on Monday, with prominent religious scholars emphasizing the need to promote peace and unity across the province.
Addressing a press conference after the meeting, Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Qureshi said that Pakistan’s leading ulema have declared attacks within Pakistan as (forbidden in Islam).
”The basic purpose of the Paigham-e-Aman Committee is to promote peace,” Maulana Qureshi stated. “Pakistan was established in the name of Islam, and we will promote peace in it.”
He noted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been the worst affected by terrorism and stressed that peace is urgently needed. “The fire of terrorism has flared up in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. It needs to be cooled down,” he added.
Maulana Qureshi said the committee will work to promote harmony and unity among all schools of thought. He thanked the Chief Minister and provincial government for forming the committee and placing their trust in the ulema.
He also praised Field Marshal General Asim Munir, saying, “Under the leadership of Field Marshal General Asim Munir, the name of the country has been brightened across the world.”
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to support government efforts for lasting peace and stability in the region.
