ISLAMABAD,The Supreme Court on Monday ordered the shifting of PTI founder Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital until the next hearing.

‎The court also directed the formation of a medical board and instructed that he be moved under strict security.

‎A three-member bench heard petitions related to meetings and medical treatment for the PTI founder.

‎During the hearing, Justice Shahid Waheed questioned why Imran Khan’s complete medical record had not been submitted to the court. He directed that all medical records be filed before the next hearing.

‎Referring to the reports, Justice Waheed said the PTI founder’s pulse and heart condition were not normal, and according to the reports, his vital organs had started to be affected.

‎Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan asked if an angiography mentioned in the medical report could be performed in jail. The Advocate General Islamabad replied that the facility could be availed at a hospital outside.

‎The court also discussed meetings with Imran Khan’s sisters. The bench observed that meeting sisters is not a favor but a basic right, and sought complete details from Adiala Jail authorities on meetings with his sisters over the last three years.

‎The court further sought records of Imran Khan’s telephone conversations with his children Jail authorities were also directed to submit details on how many cases he is an under-trial prisoner in, how many cases he has been convicted in, and how many sentences have been suspended.

‎PTI lawyer Uzair Bhandari requested a complete medical examination of Imran Khan at Shifa International Hospital and permission for Dr. Uzma and his personal physician Dr. Asim Yousuf to meet him.

‎The court also sought an undertaking that there would be no media talk after the meeting Justice Waheed remarked that PTI and the family would have to submit an affidavit ensuring no media interaction post-visit.

‎Justice Afghan directed PTI not to make the founder’s medical condition a political issue and to avoid politics over his treatment.

‎The Supreme Court summoned Adiala Jail officials at the next hearing and directed them to produce the record of meetings from the past three years. The hearing was adjourned until after the summer holidays.

‎The court has also directed authorities to maintain law and order outside the hospital during the transfer.
