BANNU: A sabotage plot near the University of Science and Technology Township in Bannu was foiled after security forces recovered and safely disposed of explosive material.
Acting on the instructions of DPO Bannu Capt. (R) Muhammad Furqan Bilal police have intensified operations against criminal and terrorist elements.
As part of these operations, SHO Township Police Station Javed Rasool Khan, along with a police team, cordoned off the area near the University of Science and Technology Township after receiving information about suspicious material.
The Bomb Disposal Unit reached the site and safely defused the suspicious material on the spot, averting a major disaster in Bannu Township and adjoining areas.
Further legal proceedings and investigations into the incident are underway.
Police officials said such timely actions reflect the department’s commitment to protecting educational institutions and public spaces from terrorist threats.
