ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the services chiefs and Pakistan’s armed forces have extended heartfelt greetings to the nation on the country’s 79th Independence Day, paying tribute to the sacrifices that led to the creation and defence of Pakistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the armed forces paid homage to Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founding fathers and all those who sacrificed for the country’s independence.
The military said the sacrifices of the nation’s forefathers transformed the dream of freedom into a sovereign Pakistan, while their vision, courage and determination continued to guide the nation.
The armed forces also paid tribute to the martyrs whose sacrifices, it said, had safeguarded Pakistan’s independence, security and national interests.
Reaffirming their commitment to defending the motherland, the armed forces pledged to continue supporting the country’s development and prosperity.
The message emphasised that Pakistan’s strength lies in the unity and collective resolve of its people. The armed forces urged citizens to renew their commitment to the principles of faith, unity and discipline, promote tolerance and work together for a secure, stable and prosperous Pakistan.
