ISLAMABAD: Skywatchers will have a chance to witness a rare and beautiful celestial display on August 12, 2026, as six planets appear in a line across the morning sky.
Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune will appear along the sky before sunrise, stretching from the eastern horizon toward the southwestern sky.
But not all of the six planets will be visible to the naked eye. As per astronomers, the planets of Mars and Saturn are expected to be fairly visible to the naked eyes, whereas the planets of Mercury and Jupiter might pose some challenge due to their position near to the horizon and because of the effect of daylight increasing.
While Uranus is expected to be visible with the help of binoculars and telescopes, Neptune is expected to be visible only using a telescope.
As per Star Walk, the best time to catch this rare planetary lineup is right before sunrise and one can look for the planets in the direction of the eastern horizon in the morning sky.
Experts also say there is no need to be disappointed if all six planets cannot be seen. Because Mercury and Jupiter will be close to the horizon, spotting even two or three of the planets with the naked eye can still make for a successful observation.
Venus will not be part of this planetary alignment.
