Germany has expanded employment opportunities for skilled foreign professionals, announcing vacancies across several key sectors as it seeks to address growing labour shortages.
According to updated guidance issued by German authorities, qualified international workers can apply for jobs in healthcare, medical technology, hospitality, tourism and education. The government has also provided revised information on visa procedures, employment requirements and residence regulations for foreign applicants.
The healthcare sector remains one of the country’s highest-priority areas, with strong demand for professionals including dental and medical assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, radiology technicians, surgical technologists, anaesthesia assistants, paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and podiatrists.
Germany is also looking to recruit skilled workers in the medical technology industry, including dental technicians, hearing aid specialists, opticians and orthopaedic technicians.
In the hospitality and tourism sector, vacancies are available for hotel management professionals, restaurant staff, catering specialists and chefs. The education sector is also seeking qualified teachers, educators and social workers to help meet workforce needs.
To be eligible, applicants must qualify as skilled workers under German law by holding a recognised vocational qualification or a higher education degree that is officially recognised in Germany.
