ISLAMABAD: The nationwide MDCAT 2026 exam has been postponed by over a month following directives from the Prime Minister.
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) announced Thursday that the test will now be held on September 20, 2026, instead of the previously scheduled August 16, 2026.
In an official statement, PMDC said the decision was made to give candidates additional preparation time and to ensure the exam is conducted with greater transparency, security, and administrative efficiency.
“The rescheduling has been done solely for the convenience of students and to streamline exam arrangements,” a PMDC spokesperson said.
“All other rules, eligibility criteria, and exam regulations will remain unchanged.” The Council urged candidates to monitor the PMDC official website for updates, roll number slips, and detailed schedules.
With the new date, aspiring medical and dental students now have more than an extra month to complete their preparations. The MDCAT is the mandatory entry test for admission to MBBS and BDS programs in both public and private medical colleges across Pakistan.
