Passengers expressed severe disappointment after Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) left behind their luggage on Thursday’s flight, which landed at 8:00 Am.
The flight departed from Dubai at 4:10 am on Thursday and arrived in Islamabad at 8:15 am. However, when the passengers were waiting for their luggage at the Islamabad airport, they were told that ‘the luggage has been left in Dubai, which will be sent by the next flight.’
PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez explained that “Sometimes due to lack of space on the plane, luggage has to be sent later. Hopefully, the luggage will reach Islamabad by tonight or tomorrow.”
A woman named Al-Shabba Abbasi, one of the affected passengers, said, “I had bought a lehenga from Dubai for my wedding, but my luggage did not reach on the same flight. My wedding is on the day after tomorrow, and now he worries whether another person carrying her luggage will arrive on time or not.
She added, “We were charged for the full luggage, but we were not told that there was no space on the plane. After reaching Islamabad, we found out that our luggage was not on the flight at all.”
Another passenger on the same flight, Umar Qureshi, said that they had brought valuable toys for the children and gifts for their families.
“I wanted to give a surprise to everyone as soon as I reached home, but PIA ruined the whole dream,” He added, “When it was found out at the airport that the luggage would arrive on the next flight, it became difficult to explain to the children that the gifts would not arrive now but tomorrow.”
