ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the conferment of the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) on General Syed Amir Raza, Commander National Strategic Command, in recognition of his outstanding services to national defence and strategic capabilities.

According to an official announcement, the prestigious military honour will be awarded to General Amir Raza for his distinguished professional contributions, role in strengthening Pakistan’s strategic capabilities and services rendered in the field of national security.

Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) is among the top military honours of Pakistan, and it is awarded to the armed forces officers for their distinguished and meritorious services.

This is happening after few days of taking up his duties as the country’s first Commander of National Strategic Command. A guard of honour was also presented to him at the GHQ on this occasion and he also placed a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument in memory of the martyrs of the nation.

On July 24, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appointed General Amir Raza as the commander of the National Strategic Command.
