MULTAN: Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former federal minister Malik Mukhtar Awan has passed away after a prolonged illness, the party confirmed.
A close associate of former prime minister and PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Malik Mukhtar Awan was regarded as one of the party’s veteran leaders and a prominent political figure in Multan.
His funeral prayers will be offered on Wednesday, July 29, at 9:00 am at Abdali Mosque in Multan.
Malik Mukhtar Awan was among the early leaders associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party and remained an important figure in the party’s political activities in southern Punjab particularly in Multan.
