PESHAWAR: A social media post alleging medical negligence at Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) in Peshawar has drawn public attention after claims that a patient was initially declared dead by hospital staff but later received medical treatment.

According to a Facebook post shared by user Muhammad Younis Khan, a man identified as Majid from Peshawar was shifted to Lady Reading Hospital after his health condition suddenly deteriorated.

The post claimed that emergency department staff informed the family that the patient had passed away and that no further treatment could be provided. It further alleged that after local PTI leader and Member of the National Assembly Asif Khan reached the hospital and contacted the administration, medical assistance was resumed.

The social media post claimed that the patient’s breathing was restored, treatment was started, and a stent was inserted, after which his condition reportedly improved.

Muhammad Younis Khan posed questions about the administrative response and demanded an inquiry in relation to the event, stating that the timely action saved the life of the patient.

On the other hand, the claims being made on social media remain unverified, and no official position of the administration of the Lady Reading Hospital has been made public.
