PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Colonel (Retd) Sher Afghan Khan has passed away, according to party sources.
Prior to entering practical politics, Colonel (Retired) Sher Afghan Khan also worked as a director of Survey of Pakistan. Later on, he joined PML-N and appeared in 2013 general elections as a candidate for this party.
The funeral prayers for him were held at Beedoch at 2 pm, and political and social circles have expressed great sorrow and sympathy regarding his demise.
Sher Afghan Khan is remembered as an influential political personality in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. After retiring from Pakistan Army, he entered politics and later on joined PML-N.
He also worked as a member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and was a part of various parliamentary standing committees.
In the party, he was counted among the senior leaders of PML-N and played an active part in organizing and other activities along with keeping contacts with the workers of the party.
The demise of such an influential personality has greatly saddened many political figures and his supporters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
