PESHAWAR: Janid Akbar, Provincial President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has demanded that the provincial government take an immediate, clear position on the arrest of Sanam Javed.
Janid Akbar questioned why PTI workers are not safe in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and demanded that the government explain the reasons behind the arrest of Sanam Javed. He also demanded immediate action against those involved in the arrest of PTI’s Sanam Javed.
PTI provincial also demanded that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Inspector General (IGP) be summoned to the provincial assembly so that facts are presented clearly before the people.
The incident in question regards the alleged kidnapping of Sanam Javed near Officers Mess in Peshawar. She was intercepted by five unknown persons on a busy road and pulled into a vehicle, states the FIR.
Meanwhile, the provincial spokesman of the Chief Minister, Faraz Mughal, stated that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur took immediate notice of the incident and ordered the registration of an FIR.

The FIR, which was lodged in the name of Advocate Hira Babar at Sharki Peshawar police station, has prompted the Chief Minister to call for a thorough and transparent investigation. The Peshawar police have initiated investigations into the case.
