PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Finance Department has issued notifications approving increases in multiple allowances for provincial government employees following decisions taken by the provincial cabinet.
The revised allowances will take effect from July 1, 2026, and apply to employees across several government departments.
According to the notifications, uniformed personnel serving at police stations under the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department, including constables, assistant sub-inspectors and sub-inspectors, will receive a monthly uniform allowance of Rs700.
The government has also approved revised risk allowances for these officials. Inspectors will receive Rs17,300, sub-inspectors Rs16,900, assistant sub-inspectors Rs10,700, and constables Rs11,400 per month. The allowances will be subject to income tax and will not apply to contract or daily-wage employees.
The Audit and Accounts Allowance for Treasury Service employees has been increased from 20 percent to 30 percent of basic pay for officers serving in the Treasury Department or on deputation to autonomous bodies.
The government has also raised the Prosecution Performance Allowance for officers of the Public Prosecution Cadre under the Home and Tribal Affairs Department from 60 percent to 100 percent.
For officers of the Planning Service Cadre, the Planning Performance Allowance has been fixed at 120 percent of the 2022 running basic pay.
Employees of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission will now receive an allowance equal to 33 percent of the 2022 pay scale, up from 20 percent under the 2016 pay scale.
The notifications also approve a 20 percent Judicial Allowance and a 10 percent Utility Allowance for Consumer Courts employees.
In addition, the Performance Allowance for officers of the Attorney Cadre under the Law, Human Rights and Parliamentary Affairs Department has been increased from 60 percent to 100 percent, while selected officers in the department’s Legislation Wing will receive a Legal Allowance of 120 percent.
The government has further increased the Special Conveyance Allowance for government employees with disabilities from Rs6,000 to Rs10,000 per month. Employees of the Prisons Department will also receive a Jail Allowance equal to 100 percent of the 2022 pay scale, replacing the previous allowance based on the 2017 pay scale.
