Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi chaired high level meeting on unannounced power outage and other energy related issues.
The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Energy Department, Peshawar Electric Supply Company, Tribal Electric Supply Company and Hazara Electric Supply Company
The Chief Minister expressed his strong anger over unannounced load shedding, low voltage, delays in projects and public problems, the Chief Minister directed to settle 1638 pending cases quickly, expressed concern over non-provision of poles, transformers and other equipment despite payments, delay in power supply even after receiving funds from the departments is a waste of public resources,
The Chief Minister directed Peshawar, Tribal and Hazara Electric Supply Companies to settle all pending cases immediately, the concerned institutions should not give political priorities, but should prioritize public interest, justice and merit,
The Chief Minister directed the concerned departments to complete and activate the ongoing electricity schemes in extremely hot areas by September and in other areas by December, if the cost increases due to delay in procurement despite the availability of funds, the concerned department will bear the additional financial burden,
In electricity connection The public cannot be deprived of facilities due to delay. Despite generating twice as much electricity as it needs, injustice and discrimination continue to be faced by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The public is suffering from load shedding and low voltage, while the federal government is not paying the province’s constitutional and financial rights. The federal government owes Khyber Pakhtunkhwa more than Rs 2,200 billion in net profits from hydroelectricity.
We produce more gas than we need and give it to the federal government, but our own CNG stations are closed. The federal government should address the shortcomings of its system instead of putting the burden of the burden on the public.
