Renowned podcaster Rehan Tariq was arrested at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on his return from London.
According to sources, Rehan Tariq arrived in Lahore from London after around 1 am, where his name was revealed to be on the PNIL list during immigration. Sources say that he was stopped at the airport based on a case registered against him at the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Lahore.
According to sources, initially, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials detained Rehan Tariq, after which NCCIA officials reached the airport and took him into custody.
A close relative of Rehan Tariq has also confirmed that he was stopped at the airport, after which NCCIA officials took him with them.
No official details regarding Rehan Tariq’s arrest, the nature of the case, or the charges have been released by the relevant authorities yet. More information is likely to come after the authorities make an official statement.
