ISLAMABAD: The government has launched a new simplified format of electricity bills across the country with an aim to enhance transparency in terms of consumers’ monthly electricity bill payments.
As per a statement issued by spokesperson of the Power Division, this new format of the electricity bill will make it easy for consumers to note down the details regarding total payables amount, due date of payment, and other unit consumption-related information.
Official sources stated that there were numerous complaints from consumers regarding the old electricity bill format that used to confuse consumers due to unnecessary details printed on bills. It is worth mentioning here that after considering public opinions and complaints, this bill format has been developed.
This new and simplified format of bill has removed unnecessary details which will only contain relevant information. It has been pointed out that all critical information will be provided to the consumers in an organized form through this bill format.
It may be pertinent to mention here that the Power Division took this step in order to bring improvements to its service delivery process.
The initiative has been rolled out nationwide and is expected to standardize billing communication across all distribution companies in the country.
