Indian media is strongly criticizing the US after three sailors were killed in a US naval operation near the Gulf of Oman.

After the recent incident, Indians have also remembered the famous 1988 US attack and air crash in which 10 Indian civilians lost their lives. India has registered a strong protest accusing the US Navy of targeting merchant ships.

According to the Indian Foreign Ministry, three ships carrying Indian crews were hit by US operations this week. Three Indian sailors were killed and several others injured in the attack.

After this incident, the Indian media is also mentioning the tragedy of July 3, 1988, when a US warplane mistakenly shot down an Iranian passenger plane.

The United States expressed regret at the time, describing the incident as a defensive action, but Iran described it as a serious humanitarian catastrophe and termed that US always expressing nominal regret after committing serious crimes against humanity.

Numerous technical and practical errors were subsequently identified in the international investigation. India has called on the US to fully explain the use of deadly force against civilian shipping and identify those responsible.
