Scientists have developed an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) system that is capable of diagnosing brain tumors in just 12 minutes

This speed is surprisingly fast compared to the current average diagnosis time of 12 days, and according to experts, it could revolutionize the way brain cancer is diagnosed worldwide. Experts from Heidelberg, Germany, have developed an advanced AI system called Hetaeros, which can identify and diagnose brain tumors with extraordinary accuracy and speed.

In recent years, it has become clear that accurate diagnosis of many brain tumours is only possible when both their molecular characteristics and microscopic structure are examined in detail. However, these tests are very complex, require expensive equipment, and can often take up to two weeks to produce results.

To address this problem, German researchers have developed an AI system that could make the process of diagnosing brain cancer faster, easier, and more accessible. “Hetaeros is clear evidence that AI-powered digital pathology can revolutionise medical diagnostics, enabling rapid and widely available diagnostic methods that previously required highly sophisticated technical resources,” said Moritz Gersting, one of the team leaders.
