PESHAWAR: To overcome the shortage of teaching staff in various colleges of the province, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the recruitment of 3086 lecturers in the province
Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi said that the decision was taken in the provincial cabinet meeting. He said that there are clear directives of Imran Khan to invest maximum funds in youth welfare, and that is why, for the first time, Associate degree holders will now be able to apply for jobs.
He said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet has formally approved the recruitment of 3086 lecturers in the Higher Education Department. He added that financial grants have been increased manifold to make universities financially independent.
He informed that to overcome the shortage of teaching staff in degree colleges, 3086 lecturers will be recruited in one step. On the one hand, employment opportunities will be available to students. He said that wherever a BA education is a prerequisite for employment, associate degree holders will also be able to apply. Meena Khan Afridi, all advertisements will include the requirement of a BA qualification along with an Associate Degree qualification. He said that highly educated teaching staff will be available in all universities and colleges of the province.
