In a statement released on X, Atta Tarar accused the provincial government of lavish spending and wasting public funds on political endeavours.

He expressed objections to the recent expansion of the provincial cabinet, claiming that the increase in the number of ministers and advisors was based solely on incompetence rather than any established criteria. He questioned whether adding more cabinet members would actually improve the governance that has failed to improve over the past 12 years.
Tarar further remarked that the current state of affairs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the worst it has ever been, stating that the situation in the province has never been so dire.
