The meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has been called to sight the moon of ZilHajj, after which the possible date of Eid-ul-Adha is also expected to be announced.

According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the meeting will be held on Sunday, May 17 corresponding to 29 Zil-Qaida) at the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Karachi. The meeting will be presided over by the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad.

The spokesperson said that the meetings of the zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will also be held at their respective headquarters on the same day, while the final announcement of the sighting of the moon will be made by the Chairman of the Central Committee.

According to sources, the Pakistan Suparco forecast states that the moon of Zilhajj  to be sighted on May 17, according to which Eid-ul-Adha is likely to be on May 27.

After the meeting, an official announcement will be made regarding the date of religious festivals across the country.
