The government announced that the entry and exit routes and transport hubs of the federal capital will be closed under strict security and traffic arrangements in connection with the first anniversary of the “Marka-e-Haq.
The Islamabad administration has issued a security red alert for the main event to be held in memory of the military victory “Maka-e-Haq Battle of Truth” against India in May 2025. In this regard, the inter-provincial transport hubs of Faizabad have been closed for two days since last night, due to which thousands of passengers are facing severe difficulties.
With the suspension of operations from the hubs of Faizabad and Pir Wadhai, passengers going to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Azad Kashmir are stranded due to lack of alternative means. Passengers say that the stations are closed on the occasion of every important event or negotiation, which has to bear the brunt of the poor people.
According to the traffic police, the following highways will remain closed on Sunday evening from 6:00 pm to 12:00 midnight.
From Kodianwala Chowk to Peshawar Mor, it will remain closed for traffic from both directions. Similarly Islamabad Expressway and From Faizabad to Khayaban Chowk, traffic movement will remain suspended.
Entry of heavy vehicles (HTVs) into the city will be completely prohibited from 4 am to 12 midnight on Sunday. Passengers going to Murree and Bara Kahu have been directed to use Ninth Avenue and IJP Road while residents of the red zone will be able to continue their movement through Margalla Road or Jinnah Avenue.
The administration says these measures are essential for the security of the event at the National Monument at Ground Zero, which is expected to be attended by top civil and military leaders. Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel and cooperate with the police.
