ISLAMABAD: The Office of the District Magistrate, ICT Islamabad, has announced revised closing times for markets, businesses, and commercial activities due to ongoing austerity measures. According to the new directive, all shops, markets, and shopping malls must close at 8:00 PM throughout the week. Exemptions are granted for pharmacies, hospitals, petrol stations, dairy shops, sports facilities, and IT/call centres.

Restaurants, grocery stores, and food outlets are required to close by 10:00 PM, but takeaway and delivery services are not affected. Additionally, marriage halls and event venues, including private events held at residences, must conclude operations by 10:00 PM.

These measures will take effect from May 5, 2026, and will remain in place until further notice. Citizens and business owners are urged to comply strictly with these new closing times.
