ISLAMABAD: After repeated defeats of the Pakistani team during the Asia Cup, the cricket fans across the country have demanded PCB administration to select Babar Azam for the national team in the T20 format.
After the defeat by India in the Asia Cup final, Pakistani cricket fans demanded the return of former national team captain Babar Azam to the T20 squad on social media. In the Asia Cup final, Pakistan scored 146 runs while batting first, and in 19.1 overs, the entire team collapsed. At one point on the score of 113, only one player was out, but suddenly the batting line broke down, and after only 33 runs were added, 9 players returned to the pavilion. India achieved an easy target of 147 runs with the loss of 5 wickets two balls ago.
During the tournament, the team’s middle order repeatedly failed, which caused severe disappointment among the fans and led to the discussion of a change in leadership.
After the poor performance of Pakistan’s batting line, the fans felt a little strongly. Immediately after the defeat, there was a storm of criticism of the captain and the middle order on social media.
The cricket fans were of the view that Babar Azam is a good finisher and could stay at the wicket till the end, and he must be part of the T20 squad to play a role in the future winning of the Pakistan team.
One fan wrote, “Please bring back Baba Azam, Pakistan’s cricket is incomplete without him”, another user said that he misses Baba Azam a lot. It should be noted that Babra Azam was dropped from the team 9 months ago due to his strike rate, however, after the current middle order’s continuous failure, the fans say that Babra Azam’s strike rate is better than today’s failed players.
