PESHAWAR: A new merit criterion has been issued for the recruitment of doctors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The new notification issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department regarding the recruitment of doctors states that educational marks will be given 60 percent weightage in the recruitment of doctors.

According to the notification, candidates for higher education will get 20 percent additional marks, and 20 percent marks have also been allocated for the interview, while the overall score has been kept at 100.

In addition, to make merit more transparent, a new classification has been introduced, under which marks will be further distributed according to first, second, and third division degrees.

According to the notification, 10, 15, and 20 marks will be given for one, two, and three additional degrees, respectively. The new merit criteria for the recruitment of doctors will be implemented immediately.
