Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held an important meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and discussed matters related to mediation efforts between the United States and Iran.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting, the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal reviewed the progress of Pakistan’s mediation efforts to achieve lasting peace in the region.

The Prime Minister and the Field Marshal expressed satisfaction with the reduction in tensions so far and stressed the need for all parties to maintain peace and the ceasefire.

The leadership appreciated the restraint shown by all sides and reiterated its commitment that Pakistan will facilitate both parties to reach a peaceful negotiated solution and will continue to provide all possible support.

The Prime Minister appreciated the commitment of the parties involved in the process and wished them success in their efforts to achieve peace.

He also reiterated his invitation to the visiting delegations and assured them of full cooperation and the highest hospitality from Pakistan.
