PESHAWAR: Provincial Law Minister Aftab Alam presented three significant legislative measures during a session of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday, aiming to address digital economy, overseas property rights, and women’s safety.

Among the legislation introduced was the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Promotion of Digital Payment Bill 2026, aimed at modernising financial transactions across the province. Minister Aftab Alam also presented the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Establishment of Special Courts for Overseas Property Bill 2026, which seeks to provide a dedicated legal framework for resolving property disputes faced by overseas Pakistanis.

Additionally, the House took up the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Protection Against Harassment of Women Amendment Bill 2026, introduced by the Law Minister to further strengthen legal protections for women. Following the presentation of these bills, the House is expected to deliberate on the proposed amendments and new legal structures in the coming sessions.
