The mainstream and several other digital media outlets have used a photo of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) member of the provincial assembly on a reserved slot, Jameela Paracha, posing as the photo of murdered doctor Mehwish Hasnain.
The lady doctor was shot dead when she was leaving the hospital after performing her duty at the Kohat district hospital later Iftar on Sunday.
The murder of the doctor sparked protest rallies and the closure of the health facility of the district in protest of the brutal murder by unknown assailants.
Later, the incident, including mainstream media, Ary News, Dialogue Pakistan and several others used a photo of the PML-N MPA Jameela Paracha claiming the photo of the slain doctor Mehwish Hasnain, which was in fact a fake and false news.
According to the Young Doctor Association, the victim’s family did not provide a photo of her, nor was she socially active on social media.
