PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has issued a formal notification of new working hours for government offices across the province during Ramadan 2026.

According to a notification issued by the Department of Administrative Affairs in this regard, the new working hours will be applicable to all provincial departments and subordinate institutions.
According to the notification issued, government offices that work five days a week will have their working hours from Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 3 pm, while on Friday, the office hours have been fixed from 9 am to 12:30 pm.
Similarly, for government offices that work six days a week, the working hours will be from 9 am to 2 pm on Monday to Thursday and Saturday, while on Friday, the hours of these offices will also be limited to 9 am to 12:30 pm.
The notification states that this change in office hours has been made in view of respecting the holy month of Ramadan and providing convenience to government employees. According to the announcement, all administrative secretaries, commissioners, deputy commissioners and heads of relevant institutions have been instructed to ensure implementation of the new working hours.
