PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority has achieved a significant milestone by winning the Gold Award in the Public Sector Category (Digital Government and Citizen Services) at the PASHA Awards 2025.
Out of 1,633 organisations from across the country that showcased their digital applications, the Authority’s innovative initiatives in digital tourism stood out as a prime example of “Public Service Transformation.”
NADRA’s e-Sahulat and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board’s Dastak app were recognised as the runners-up in this prestigious competition. Secretary Tourism Dr Abdul Samad emphasised that the tourism digital platform, developed in accordance with international standards and consisting of 34 modern modules under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Integrated Tourism (KITE) project, has significantly elevated the province’s profile on a national scale.
He stated that this honour not only reflects an award but also confirms the vision behind Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s efforts to create new opportunities and gain global trust through technological advancements in tourism services. Dr Abdul Samad elaborated that under the guidance of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the province’s tourism strategy is being formulated to gain national recognition while setting new benchmarks for digital tourism development throughout Pakistan.
The Director General of the Culture and Tourism Authority, Habibullah Arif, commended the team’s hard work and dedication, emphasising that this award is a testament to their innovative thinking and relentless efforts. He noted that this achievement belongs to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and realises the dream of positioning the province as a leading tourism hub globally.
