PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah on Monday directed district administrations across the province to initiate effective action against wall chalking, in line with the instructions of the Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi.

During a meeting, Chief Secretary KP said the campaign would be launched in phases, with the first phase focusing on the complete removal of wall chalking from national monuments, historical sites and cultural heritage buildings to preserve the province’s historical identity and protect public places.

The chief secretary reiterated that safeguarding public property, maintaining the beauty of cities and ensuring the rule of law were among the top priorities of the provincial government. He warned that no negligence would be tolerated in the implementation of the campaign.

Mr Shah also directed the administrations to ensure effective monitoring and coordination so that the anti-wall chalking drive delivers visible and sustainable results across the province.
