KOHAT: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police on Sunday, during a major counterterrorism operation, killed eight militants in the bordering area of Karak district. RPO Kohat confirmed.

According to Abbas Majeed Marwat, the Regional Police Officer for Kohat, a major police operation was launched in response to information regarding the presence of terrorists in the Karakand area, under the jurisdiction of the Khurram police station, located on the border of Karak.

As a result of the operation, eight terrorists have been killed. There are also reports of several others being injured. The operation is being conducted under the direct supervision of RPO Marwat. Dr Saud Khan, the District Health Officer of Karak, is present at the site with a heavy police contingent and personnel from intelligence agencies.

An exchange of gunfire is ongoing between the police and the terrorists. During the operation, several of the terrorists’ hideouts located in the hills have been destroyed. The bodies of the slain terrorists remain in the mountainous area, while their fellow militants are firing at the police in an attempt to retrieve the bodies.
