ISLAMABAD: President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Saturday, expressed the continued friendship of Turkey and Pakistan, saying that the relationship between the two countries would last “till the end of time.”
President Erdogan speaking from Istanbul, said that the common history of the two nations has passed through the centuries and that even more Turkey-Pakistan relations would occupy a greater share of the world and would be more solid in the coming years.
The president moved to speak about defence cooperation, saying that Turkey is giving the Pakistan Navy PNS Khyber, which has gone through all its trial phases successfully. He further mentioned that PNS Badr would be in the possession of Pakistan by the end of 2026, while PNS Tariq is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2027.
Turkish president claimed that Turkey is one of the ten countries in the world that can make fighter aircraft. That was indeed a sign of Turkey’s boosting military power.
Erdogan also pointed to Turkey’s long-term foreign policy long term vision, saying the country is a great supporter of the international legal principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations. He declared that Turkey’s approach is neither of creating tensions, nor of engaging in conflict or confrontation with anyone, and that it would always be a peace and stability factor in the area, thus, of course, with its neighboring countries.
