QUETTA: The government of Pakistan continues to repatriate its citizens from Iran through its operation which has now brought back 5047 Pakistani nationals after 92 people returned home on its 16th operational day.
The district authorities report that eight people entered Pakistan through the Tafftan border, while 84 people entered through the Gabad Rimdan border. The Tafftan border crossing has seen 3456 people return to their homes since the beginning of the operation while 1591 people have arrived through the Gabad Rimdan border.
The authorities confirmed that returnees from the conflict included students, businessmen, labourers and pilgrims who had been in Israel during the Iran conflict. Pakistan has been working to bring back its citizens who became stranded in Iran since the outbreak of the conflict which started between Israel and Iran.
The efforts of the last 16 days have succeeded in bringing back 5047 people to their homes. Local officials confirmed that the repatriation process will continue because more citizens remain in Iran and they are working to bring these people back through the Tafftan and Gabad Rimdan border crossings.
The government expressed gratitude to local officials and border officials and the Pakistani community for their continuous support of the repatriation process. The operation will continue until all expected returns complete their journey back to their home country, according to upcoming operational updates.
