‎Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology, Allama Dr. Raghib Naeemi, said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman should not become an obstacle in the Punjab government’s provision of stipends to Imams.

‎In an interview Allama Raghib Naeemi said that the government’s decision to provide monthly stipends to Imams was a right move. Imams in mosques are being paid a monthly salary of Rs 15,000 to 20,000. If the Punjab government wants to provide stipends to Imams of 65,000 mosques, there is nothing wrong with it.

‎The Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology said that Islam teaches peace, we need to spread this message again.

‎Raghib Naeemi said that the Chief Minister told this meeting that there is talk of 600 people being killed in the operation against TLP, if anyone has any evidence, then they should bring it forward.

‎He said that Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Hafiz Saad Rizvi is a hardliner, his ideology is strong, when he started this march, he did not consult anyone, but took a solo flight.

‎He said that the law was taken into their own hands in the TLP march, on which the law enforcement agencies took action, there was no discussion in the meeting with the Punjab Chief Minister about where Saad Rizvi is at the moment.

‎The Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology said that what Mumtaz Qadri did is now a part of the past, I will not discuss why he did it, we are all Pakistani citizens and we should follow the law.

‎Allama Raghib Naeemi also avoided answering the question asked about the operations of the Crime Control Department (CCD) in Punjab.
