ISLAMABAD: Mobile users in Pakistan are likely to get 5G service before Eid-ul-Fitr. While telecom operators are expected to be issued 5G licenses next week.

According to sources, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has accelerated preparations to issue licenses after the 5G spectrum auction. And the authorities have already prepared 5G licenses. After this development, telecom companies may be in a position to launch 5G service before Eid-ul-Fitr.
PTA has directed the companies to complete all legal requirements for obtaining licenses.
According to sources, companies will have to submit a bank guarantee of $ 15 million before issuing licenses. One company has already submitted a bank guarantee, while two other companies are also expected to submit it soon.
PTA is considering issuing 5G licenses to all three telecom companies simultaneously. And all operators are ready to start the service immediately.
For this purpose, a proposal to hold a 5G license issuance ceremony at the PTA headquarters is also under consideration. While the agency wants to pave the way for the 5G launch before Eid-ul-Fitr.
