ISLAMABAD: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a 48-hour gas suspension for industries and the CNG sector starting from January 24, as part of measures to manage increased demand during the winter season.
According to an SSGC spokesperson, the decision has been taken to ensure better gas pressure for domestic and commercial consumers, with industrial and CNG operations temporarily affected.
The gas supply to industries, captive power plants, and CNG stations will be suspended from 8:00am on Saturday until 8:00am on Monday, while domestic and commercial users continue to receive limited gas only between 10:00pm and 5:00am as per the usual winter schedule.
The spokesperson noted that similar steps had been taken in previous days to prioritize domestic gas supply, temporarily cutting off supply to the industrial and CNG sectors.
Authorities have urged affected consumers to make necessary arrangements during the suspension period and assured that normal supply will resume immediately after the specified timeframe.
