PESHAWAR: The security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Bannu District, on the reported presence of Khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy, Fitna al Khwarij.
During the conduct of the operation, their own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location, and after an intense fire exchange, twenty-two khwarij were sent to hell.
Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored Kharji found in the area, as the relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm-e-Istehkam” (as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.

According to reports, the terrorist group Fitna al-Khawarij launched attacks late at night on the Ghoriwala and Wazir police stations in Bannu. The police responded promptly, forcing the attackers to go back.
At the Ghoriwala police station, the terrorist assault occurred from two sides at around 11:45 PM. After a 10-minute exchange of gunfire, the attackers were compelled to flee. Similarly, at the Wazir police station, both light and heavy firing originated from the surrounding hills during the late hours of the night, continuing for 25 minutes. The attackers retreated after the police launched a counteraction.
Fortunately, in both incidents, police personnel and infrastructure remained completely safe.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, praised the bravery and dedication of the police officers for successfully thwarting both attacks. He stated that no amount of praise is sufficient for the courageous officers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police who disrupted the enemies’ malicious plans.
He asserted that a small group of terrorists would not be allowed to impose their will on the public and that they would be eliminated. The Bannu police have the full capability to address any aggressive actions by terrorists. With their professional skill and courage, they successfully repelled both attacks.
IG Zulfiqar Hameed congratulated the police teams for their outstanding performance and honoured them with high praise. DIG Bannu Region Sajad Khan also commended the bravery of the police personnel for preventing both attacks, emphasising that the Bannu Region police can confront all forms of terrorism.
He noted that the professionalism, alertness, and courage of the police force have once again demonstrated that the struggle against terrorism will continue until it is eradicated. He appreciated the timely and effective actions of all personnel, asserting that the Bannu police are always vigilant and ready to protect the lives and property of the public on every front.
