Two personnels of Frontier Corps martyred and five others injured when remote control blast targeted thier vehicle on Monday.
The incident took place near Kot Hakim area, under the Gomal police station limits, when a remote-controlled blast was carried out on a Frontier Corps (FC) vehicle, following which firing was also carried out by unknown persons.
According to initial reports, two FC personnel were martyred in the remote-controlled blast while five personnel including Naib Subedar Zahid were injured. The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
According to security sources, immediately after the blast, forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to arrest the attackers. Investigation is underway for more details, and security forces have deployed additional personnel in the area.
Government officials have directed the public to immediately report suspicious persons or activities to security agencies. This incident shows that militant elements are still trying to target urban areas and security personnel.
