At least 17 female students of the School of Public Health (LHV) went unconscious due to gas leakage and were shifted to the emergency room of Ayub Teaching Hospital.
After the incident, the students became unconscious on the spot and started experiencing severe nausea, vomiting and difficulty in breathing. The condition of 5 students is said to be critical. The students were immediately shifted to the emergency room of Ayub Teaching Hospital by a college vehicle, where they were provided timely medical assistance. Currently, one student is under treatment in the medical ICU, two in the CCU and one student in the medical ward C, while the rest of the students are kept under emergency observation under the supervision of doctors.
Doctors, nurses, paramedics, and support staff under the supervision of Medical Director Prof. Dr. Saqib Malik, Associate Hospital Director Dr. Dawood Iqbal, and Deputy Director Sher Ayub responded immediately and rendered exemplary services.
According to a hospital spokesperson, all patients are being provided with all possible medical facilities, and their condition is being continuously monitored.
