TIMERGARA, Lower Dir: A team of fourteen women bikers, seven from abroad and seven from Pakistan, landed in Lower Dir on a fifteen-day expedition across the picturesque northern areas of Pakistan.

The biking team, which started its trip from Islamabad, went through Bisham, Gilgit, Hunza, Khunjerab, Shandur, Upper Dir, and finally arrived in Lower Dir, where the local government provided them with a very warm reception. The safety measures and comfort requirements for the foreign guests were especially arranged.

The international bikers included riders that were two from Canada, three from New Zealand, one from the UK, and one from France. Besides that, the Pakistani team consisted of two women bikers Anam and Ayesha plus five male bikers Hassan, Moeenuddin, Sajjad, Mahboob, and Syed Aitezaz.

The riders gave a lot of compliments to the northern part of Pakistan for their astounding beauty and to the local people for their hospitality and friendliness.

“One of the best experiences I have ever had. The world should be introduced to the real, beautiful side of Pakistan,” a second rider said.

“The narratives of our journey will be told over to the world to depict the positive side of Pakistan,” was the communication from the group.

The welcome given to them by the people of Lower Dir was appreciated and the bikers also thanked the local people very much for their hospitality.

This move is regarded as a good way to go in the promotion of adventure tourism in the area and the local people are of the opinion that similar visits would eventually place Dir and the adjoining regions on the limelight.

“Pakistan offers immense opportunities for adventure tourism,” said one of the foreign visitors.

“We look forward to returning this country has left a lasting impression on us,” the group concluded.

The arrival of international bikers in Lower Dir has injected new energy into local tourism and is being viewed as a sign of growing global interest in exploring Pakistan’s natural beauty, culture, and hospitality.
