RUSTAM (Shehzad Raja): At least 6 mine workers were killed who were trapped underneath the debris when a portion of the mine collapsed in the Palaw Dehrai area of Rustam here on Tuesday evening.
According to the local at the site, an explosion was heard at the mine, and later they reported that 10-12 people were trapped underneath the debris, and the rescue operation is continuing.
Locals had earlier said that two injured workers have been retrieved and shifted to a nearby hospital, and efforts are underway to recover more trapped men.
The local authorities have asked the hospital to provide immediate medical assistance to the injured and put the staff on alert. Also, the Rescue agencies begin the rescue operation at the scene.
The preliminary reports say that the condition of two injured workers was critical.
According to updates shared by the Rescue 1122, Rustam Mardan, six people were killed and three were injured and have been shifted to the hospital.
